I am evaluating LLBLGen. I'd like to see how I can customize with templates before I buy. I am having a lot of trouble figuring how to get these to work. I've read the documentation and poked around the forums, but I'm just not getting it. Is there a simple walk-through I can find somewhere? I see there is a template studio, but is that only available to paying customers?

Ideally, I'd like to see how to generate DTO classes for my entities. I found a template to use, but I can't figure out how to wire it into the process.

Since I'm a noob asking a noob question, let me tack on another - what does everyone call LLBLGen? Does it have a nickname? That is a mouthful.

Thanks!

Support Team will need to help you with Template Studio for demo version.

Nickname

Yes, it's a terrible name. Sometimes I call it:

  • LLBean (like the mail order website)
  • LLBL
  • LGP The product is _much _ better than its name.

Frans could use some professional marketing assistance. wink

You can find DTO templates and their install instructions here: http://www.llblgen.com/tinyforum/Messages.aspx?ThreadID=13256

I do have that, that's the irony wink . When I released 'llblgen' the freebee stored proc generator back in 2002, I didn't anticipate the overwhelming success of it, and it was natural to release a commercial successor with the same name, so people would recognize it. of course, I'm not allowed to cook up any name whatsoever ever again wink .

About the templates. Template studio isn't available to customers, so I can't send you that. What I can do is mail you the .chm documentation coming with the SDK, which contains in depth info about how the template system works. Does your email address you used to register on this forum allow attachments in .zip format?

Yes, my email can accept zip. That would be great, thanks.

That's funny - we've started to call it LLBean also. Or, LabelGen.
