Hi md,

If you've installed the demo previously, that indeed prevents you from running it again. Please install the designer on another machine and create a project there, generate code there and use that code + runtimes on your own machine.

Regards.

We've tried on all kinds of machines, all clean, but can't reproduce it. What's the OS you're running? (vista, xp, 64bit/32bit etc.) Did you install it under administrator (you have to) was there anything popping up/unusual happening when you ran the installer? Did you change the system date?

I have the same problem. And I'm pretty sure I've never installed on this machine before. I'm running Vista 32bit. I'm not running as administrator, but installed as administrator. UAC is enabled.

Ok, could you do this test for me please: log in as administrator and try to run the demo. Does it work then?

There seems to be a problem with the installer. We're investigating it now. I thought I had found it but the installer works fine on xp and vista and I get a 30 day trial period. I also first installed it on vista under administrator, UAC crap enabled, then I logged out and logged in as a normal user, started the app, worked as expected: 30 day trial period...

We can email you a version with a fixed 30 day trial period which should work regardless. Is the email address in your profile here able to receive .zip attachments?

This is a GMail account, I think if you change the file extension I can get it without problems.

I'm running into the same problem -- just downloaded the demo and it immediately reports that it has expired. I installed both under the local administrator account and my regular login (also a member of the Administrators group). Same behavior.

XP SP2. Nothing unusual in the event logs. The only snag is the fact that the machine is part of a domain where the DC is not currently available, but logging in under the local admin account should eliminate that factor.

Does the fix you provided to the previous poster apply here? In any event, I want to use your product -- I'm the IT manager for a software company with several million customers (yes, I actually am. If you have Microsoft Office, you have our bits).

Please advise...

We've tried to find the problem causing this immediate expiration, but we can't reproduce it ourselves on any of our systems or special setup systems for this test. It's unfortunate, because if we could have reproduced it we could have investigated which of the protection elements failed.

We'll email you a demo extension to the email address you used to register on this forums, today. It will run for 30 days and then quit.

I am facing the same problem with the v2.5 demo. I installed it in my development environment (Windows 2003 as a Parallels image) a few days ago. It has been working fine until today, but now I am getting the "demo expired" message when I run the application. Could you possibly send me a demo extension as well?

You could start it OK and after a few days of usage it stopped? Hmm...

Just a small question: did you change the date of your system perhaps?

No, I didn't change the system time. It happened after I ran a registry repair utility on the PC. Restoring the registry had no effect though, so it looks like that may have been just a coincidence.

No I think that's the problem. We'll send you a trial version with a fixed end date (to the emailaddress you used to register on the forums)

Thanks a lot. I appreciate that. I have been studying LLBLGen the last few weeks and have heard a lot of nice things about it, so I am looking forward to putting it to work!

It was simple_smile Could be it ended up in a spam filter, or that the zip wasn't accepted (though usually we get a bounce when the latter is the case). Could you check if it was filtered out please? If you can't find it, please let us know, preferably with an alternative email address we can try. It would be best to post that in the helpdesk, so your address isn't crawled into spam lists.

I don't see any traces of it in my spam folder either. Is there a particular text I could search for? You could try to resend it to my gmail.com account instead. The username there ctorvnes.
