I would like to discuss advantages and disadvantages of major code generators available in market.

http://www.codegeneration.net/generators.php

For example: LLBL vs Pragmatier? (http://www.llbl.com) vs (http://www.pragmatier.com) => Affordable vs Expensive sunglasses => MS Access not supported vs supported. frowning

Which one do you prefer to develop your code? why?

Share your ideas!

Any comment is appreciated.

Access isn't a database for n-tier apps but for single user single tier applications, developed in Access also. The only reason it is somewhat compelling is that it is easily distributed. Access support will be added in June

Pragmatier is ok, Mats is a good developer simple_smile

Thanks for your interest. I am not thinking of code generator for Access database, as SQL Server is great! smile

I am more thinking towards which code generator is best available in whole world - regardless of price issue...??? and which facilities make great generator tool?

I think Entity, collection and thier relationship generator saves 60% of coding. How about website generator using master template files automatically? Also, Admin database management in-built generator like add, edit, delete records coding etc...

I want to know what makes our life easier! (My life is a bit easier after purchasing LLBLGen.)

As I haven't used all code generators, http://www.codegeneration.net/generators.php - I would like to know ideas and functionality of other code generators.

happy coding smile

Developer

I looked at Pragmatier for a while, and while I like a lot of their features (pPath), I didn't at all like their UI (confusing and clunky). Also, I still don't understand why they support so few data types. I might have been able to live with those limitations, but when the demo's generated code wouldn't build (there were four errors) I just gave up. Maybe I did something wrong, but by then I was so fed up I gave up. My conclusion: I'd rather buy a product that is easy to use and works well, even if it has fewer features (as long as the missing features are not exxential). I chose LLBLGen because it has the features I need and appears to be well supported. Source code access and generous licensing terms are a nice plus though.

I recently visited Mere Mortals .NET Framework at http://www.oakleafsd.com

Help file: http://www.oakleafsd.com/Download%20files/MMNetDevGuide1.1.chm

It looks very interesting and challengeable framework. It says that it has many functionalities in-built (I haven't tried yet, as it's not easy to learn new programming framework.)

What do you think about this framework compared to code generators?
