After suffering with declining performance from my laptop for months, I finally "bit-the-bullet" and reformated my drive. Now, in less than one week, I already have significantly longer boot times and noticably declining performance. There is already an application that won't uninstall (Yahoo! Extras causes Remove Programs to hang) and both Yahoo and AOL have already invaded my browser tool bar and my tools tray with a ton of unexpecteds.

You simply CAN'T win.

Set up a virtual machine and do your browsing from there....heh.

Actually VMWare has a ready-made VM for browsing you can download, so my suggestion was only half in jest. I did set up one just for file sharing, so I don't care what crap ends up in there.
