It is quite stable but I just had to kill the vs.net 2005 process, the rtm edition, so in my opinion there might still be some issues.

the RC edition you mean They haven't released any RTM bits yet.

You had me doubt my self but I checked, what i have downloaded and installed says in the About box: RTM050727-0700, I have a subscription from msdn, downloaded this a few weeks ago, works fine, but the wizards to for setting up a datagrid etc, work fine the first time, but if your table changes it breaks. Any way, should always use llblgen I guess, just have to find the way to use the objectdatasource with llblgen.

I have

Version 8.0.50727.26 (RTM.050727-2600)

Which seems to be a newer version of yours. But, I know that it is Release Candidate 1.

The whole point of a release candidate is that it is "expected" to be the release. So, it installs like and looks like the release should/will look. However, the release date of VS 2005 is November 7th.

I would also be very surprised if RC1 became the release.

All I can say is without violating NDA: RC is not the same version as RTM, in fact, it's not yet RTM'ed.

Hey, they've got three weeks to to throw caution to the wind and release it no matter what. I'm gonna put money on SP1 being released by mid January.

I wouldn't hold my breath on SP1, we still don't have a SP1 on VS 2003, then again VS 2003 is bug free!

I bet we'll never see vs.net 2003 sp1, as I've heard so many times a remark that it was in testing, was planned to release around <insert date in the past here>, that I gave up.
