I normally use a US host (www.webhost4life.com) however a clients SEO optimiser now insists we get a UK host which is fair enough. The problem is I have been burnt a number of times with bad hosts rage so was wondering if anyone here could recommend a good UK host?

Apart from the obvious my requirements are:

Good contol panel and support MSSQL - Ideally web based way of backing up and restoring Windows 2003 Custom extention mapping (need to be able to map images requests though the .NET engine) Access to raw server logs

Thanks

I currently have a dedicated server with 1and1.co.uk and have been very impressed with their service. I've also used uk2.net in the past and would recommend you stay well away from them, as they have the worst customer support i have ever encountered (except for maybe ntl).

lol NTL are definately up there, as are BT. Unfortunately I need a shared solution as it doesnt warrent a dedicated server yet + I dont want to have to pay 5k for a SQL licence.

Also check out HostingUK.net. I've used them in the past and you get alot for the money.

Not sure about your full requirements though but you can always send them an email for more information.

Geoff.

I've used HostingUK before and not found them to bo so good. For one the only let you connect to SQL from specified IPs which given I spend half my time in random locations is just not workable. Thanks anyway
