Really off topic, but OTIS have you gone to the International Course of Justice. The building, the proceedings, etc.

Guess, it is like asking NYorkers about UN but....

(I was a lawyer in my last life....).

My name might not be Frans or "Otis" but I live in the same country where this court is based and I must say I have never been there. It might be because I am just a student in the beginnings of his live, althought that should increase the change of a visit to the court as I have schooltrips (long live school simple_smile ). When people come here they tend to visit Amsterdam, Rotterdam and the Kinderdijk (where the windmills are) more then any other place. I think I know for sure Frans has visited the court more then once, as he lives in the darn city.

May be I should go to UN, NYork. And of course, take pictures....

ICJ is a very unusual place. Sovereigns plead there....even though they are sovereigns.... flushed

School trips - The most I visited in my life was through a 3 day school trip. It was good. They are good.

Is it true that they reclaim land from sea using windmills ?

balu.

I think Otis is an old metalhead so, he's probably been to a court or two in his younger years. simple_smile

I don't know Mr. B. personally or anything. It's just a hunch wink

The international court of justice is just a couple of miles away from my home in the Peace Palace: http://www.vredespaleis.nl/showpage.asp?pag_id=1. The yugoslavia tribunal is also there.

I've never been inside though, but the building is impressive (but not as old as it looks wink ).

Heh altough I'm a metalhead now, I wasn't in the early days. Before 1994 I was mainly into dancemusic, so really, I have never seen a court from the inside wink

In 2001 (or 2002) the tribunal was accepting applications for a Windows/ASP intranet web app developer. I didn't get the job but it seemed like it would be a great experience if nothing else.

Let's just say that in 1994 my gf at that timeleft me (which turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to me wink ) after 6 years and I started to play guitar. I still composed trance/hardcore house at that time but after some time, dancemusic is pretty dull simple_smile And being in a rockband is much cooler than being on your own in some musicprogram fiddling with blips and 303/909 beats wink . Starting with playing guitar offered me the oppertunity to really learn music composition and after I took the musical journey from aerosmith -> Guns & roses -> metallica -> megadeth -> dream theater -> symphony X -> Epica, I know it was all worth it simple_smile

I mean if you listen to the last piece of trance-house I ever made: http://www.xs4all.nl/~perseus/Otis-glTrancelatef.mp3 and the guitar MP3 I really put a lot of effort into: http://www.xs4all.nl/~perseus/otis_growingolder.mp3 you have to agree with me: house is pretty boring and guitars rock smile

WOW... what a talent!!!

Do you have links to other mp3s? http://www.xs4all.nl/~perseus/ only has mods, don't know what they are. The http://www.mp3.com/otis link is broken.

On which is best... I have to say I appreciated the guitar track but loved the dance track... simple_smile Commercial quality! I've been into dance music since late 80s and I don't think that's going to change anytime soon simple_smile

I was hoping you'd say that you were into all the bitchin dutch punk that's been coming out of there since the early 80s before the metal wink BGK, No Pigs, Larm, even The Ex...

I've since started liking alot of the scandinavian metal bands too. But, not the cheesy black metal bands.

The mp3.com link is indeed down. CNet bought mp3.com and threw out all the mp3's unless you signed some contract that they could sell your music to pubs etc. and you not getting anything so I refused. Mods (the .mod files) are 4-tracks and sound pretty bad if you don't play them in mono. The .XM mods are 12-32 tracks and sound great. You can play both with winamp simple_smile

I don't have the mp3's online anymore, the rest were mp3-ed versions of the .xm's anyway.

Heh cool, I was into dancemusic since the late 80's as well! When the real acid came up, belgian newbeat, chicago deep house... hiphouse... oh the nostalgia! wink

no no punk for me... simple_smile To me punk is one of the worst possible way of making music, along with britney s. and other children.

therion and the like? Some are good, but often their exceptional great music is disrupted by a completely out-of-tone dork who thinks grunting is still 'it'.

Therion is ok sometimes. I'm really into Opeth a LOT. Although I think they're getting too big for my tastes. I like the earlly days of a good band when you can still see them at a small club. I totally agree with the out-of-tone dork thing though. simple_smile
