Hi, Frans. Didn't know where to stick this one, so figured "Off-topic" would work. I'm having problems with the forum using Firefox. It doesn't always seem to track new posts correctly - meaning sometimes the little button is lit when there are no new posts, and sometime its not lit when there are. I don't have any idea as to why/when etc. Just thought I'd let you know.

Jeff...

Hmm. I also use firefox and I see 'new' postings when I've already visited the forum and seen them when I didn't actually close my window, just the tab the forum was on. This means that the session is actually still active.

Sometimes when I close a thread the last posting in the thread might be new to you so the forum says it has new messages for you, but you don't notice them at the top. That's what I experience here. Perhaps it's a proxy at your side.

When you access the forum site, a time is listed at the top welcoming you. From that time till the current time all forums with postings posted in that timeframe will 'contain new messages'. Could you please verify if that time is correct?

I just started using firefox (.9)and I really like it.....

But I am having an issue where all of the posts are marked as read...all grey.

One thing I noticed is that in IE I have the following header

Welcome bertcord! Below you'll find several sections and forums where you can discuss all kinds of topics.

Your last session here started on: 16-Jul-2004 20:48

but in firefox I get the following

Welcome bertcord! Below you'll find several sections and forums where you can discuss all kinds of topics.

no last session information...but I am still logged in as you can see my username

anyone else have issues like this? bert

I use solely firefox (0.9.2) simple_smile

The last session is stored using asp.net form based security. This is via a cookie. Cookies are browser specific. THis means that there is no last session known in firefox, as you log in for the first time simple_smile

I have this: Welcome Otis! Below you'll find several sections and forums where you can discuss all kinds of topics.

Your last session here started on: 20-Jul-2004 18:03

You'll see it will display the session when you close the browser and restart it and reconnect simple_smile

Perhaps you deny the cookies to be set (it is set every time). simple_smile I never had the issue you described though. (using tabbed browsing extension, 0.9.2 firefox)

the weird thing is the cookie is on my machine... Tools-->Options -- > Cookies -- > Stored Cookies

I have 3 cookies for llblgen TinyForumLogin ASP.NET_SessionId LastVisitDate

LastVisitDate has the following content 200720041937

I deleted the cookie closed and re-opend the browser and the cookie was added back...but the last visited time still does not show up in my browser cry

I really like the firefox except for this hehe...

maybe you could re-design the forum so this info is stored server side smile

just jokeing.. I can live with this you just get back to work on those updates stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye

Which issue was that? I use firefox since 0.8 and never had a problem of missing threads here simple_smile (at least I think I don't wink )

Actually, I'm experiencing what I think is the same problem. It just won't remember what my last visit date/time was, and everything is new. I have to look at the date of the forum to see if anything is really new.

This started when I installed the latest FireFox and had it import my Favorites/History/Cookies from IE. It occurs in both browsers, IE and FireFox. And no, I won't download Netscape and try it there! stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye

WooHoo!

I deleted the cookies in IE Bert mentioned, and now my little grey/yellow balls work correctly! Previously they were all yellow.

Success in FireFox, too, after deleting said cookies. Note that FireFox shows cookies for www.llblgen.com as well as llblgen. Destroyed both.
