I don't understand the point

This slashdot article points to some other articles that talk about how it is possible to run Windows on the new Mac Intel boxes. I thought the whole point of owning a Mac was so you didn't have to use Windows. I understand the whole "climb the mountain because its there" thing, but this seems silly to me.

The other way around looks more interesting MacOS on std. Notebook Hardware....

True. Of course the trap with buying the latest and greatest with hardware is that next week, someone has something faster.

I guess if there are certain apps you HAVE to have that only run on Windows, then this is cool. Just me though. My wife tells me I'm too practicle some times. Maybe she's right.
