I'm new to VS 2005 and was wondering about the IDataSource SmartTag settings. Possible?

Yes. Drag an EntityCollection (adapter) or typedcollection (customercollection for example) (selfservicing) from the toolbox onto the form. Then pick the datasource simple_smile (If I understand correctly what you mean with IDataSource)
