Note: Quick Rant

Ok, so I have been looking for a defect tracking tool. I looked at probably 20 or so (less than half had screenshots or demos) and if a company has no screen shot or demo of their application I pretty much ignore it, at least in the first round. Why do they do this? And what I hate even more, is that some products require you to register to see a demo. rage Now I can somewhat understand this from a marketing standpoint in wanting to capture potential user info, but if I can't see a basic demo, I won't register.

Anyone have any feelings on this.

Yep - it sucks.

The bigger the company, the more anal they become about sharing their product with you. <sarcastic> Theres must be some consultant software intellectual-property "expert" that goes round all these places telling them to hide their screenshots - after all once us programmers see a screenshot then its dead easy to rip off their program, right? </sarcastic>

We've been using Gemini internally for six months or so now. It is free and has worked quite nicely for us so far.
