I need to install an Oracle database "server" on humble laptop. Does anyone know if it will die?

FOr Oracle8, there was a "Personal Server" which seemed OK. Its Oracle 9iRel2 I am working on now, and its all or nothing - Database Server is the only choice, and I'm wondering if I will regret installing it....

Should be fine. My oracle testbox is a P3-933 with 512 MB ram. Just don't install all the fancy services and datawarehousing wink

Is there like a cheap version of Oracle that a developer could use as a testbed, "just in case" they were considering using Oracle at some point?
