Yes it's a fulltime job
But it's the best job you can possibly imagine and every day (even the days where servers crash and burn and the days where you spend 3 days programming on an expression syntaxis which doesn't seem to work) is a great joy: finding bugs, adding new features, designing the philosophy behind features etc. It's not a big struggle with team members who are lazy, unmotivated or not skilled enough.
Only writing documentation is often not a joy, but it's part of the package, so it has to be done as well.
