AdapterExtensionMethodsFetchScalarAsyncTValue Method (IDataAccessAdapter, DynamicQuery, CancellationToken)

Async variant of FetchScalarTValue(IDataAccessAdapter, DynamicQuery). Fetches a scalar value using the query specified, and returns this value typed as TValue, using a cast. The query specified will be converted to a scalar query prior to execution.

The adapter.

The query.

The cancellation token.

Usage Note

In Visual Basic and C#, you can call this method as an instance method on any object of type IDataAccessAdapter. When you use instance method syntax to call this method, omit the first parameter. For more information, see Extension Methods (Visual Basic) or Extension Methods (C# Programming Guide).

Remarks

Use nullable(Of T) for scalars which are a value type, to avoid crashes when the scalar query returns a NULL value.
