From v4.2 readme

is a per seat license, usable on a single install on a single computer

Is this accurate? I've been telling clients the license is per user of the designer. If in fact it is per seat, I interpret that to mean we could set it up on a single machine and allow individual developers to remote to that machine for serial use by multiple developers. On the other hand if it is per user then can I install on multiple machines as long as I am the only user of the software?

You've been telling your clients right. We're going to rephrase the EULA/readme so it states more clearly licensing is per individual. This indeed means you can use the same license on different machines as long as you're the only person using the designer.

Aglaia, One follow-up. Let's say a business has purchased a license and assigned it to a developer. Then the developer leaves the company. Am I right to tell them they can then assign that same license to the replacement developer?

Yes, you are right. Of course you do need to make sure the leaving developer doesn't take a copy of the license with him/her.
