Walaa, cool. Glad it can help.

Filtering appropriate news is tricky 'cause don't want to let the floodgates open for useless news with too little filtering but at the same time there can't be too much either or there'd very little news at all. Hence, improving the filtering system is an ongoing challenge. Some irrelevant news items (in professional sense) are bound to slip through.

That's a good proposition about the "About Us"/Benefits page. I thought I'll keep them on the front page for the opening months and then move them to separate pages. Banner could be snazzy but I'm hoping to support some of the higher res mobile devices / netbooks by the current "tight" (page starting at the very top), simple (little graphics) and liquid layout without resorting to custom mobile pages.

Look's nice, I found some good links there.

Might need some styling especially in the home page, maybe some more height and sace for the "About Us" & "What's in it For Me?" sections.
A nice banner for the header would be nice too.

Thanks Frans. I've learned a ton from you and other forum members during the course of building the service. Sales pitch for LLBLGen Pro (with LINQ): it's such a smooth experience that in itself also helped keep up the motivation to go forward.

Hi all,

I've launched a service called MSTechZone. It targets people who work in professional capacity with official Microsoft and complementary/derived/related technologies (such as LLBLGen Pro).

The first stage of the service is to supply professional (as in no Xbox news or the like) and relevant news & technical articles about the entire Microsoft ecosystem.

All and any feedback (helpful? what needs to be improved, etc.) is welcome.

Yes.

Each form is linked to exactly one Entity.
We use the meta data of the entity to statically generate a skeleton form.
Most entry forms are simple skeleton forms.

But the more interesting forms (product, customer, invoice etc.)
are heavily customized to get a more rich experience.

This is different from what Dynamic Data is doing today, but we started developing EIS over a year ago and back then Dynamic Data was just a cool demo.

It basically doesn't matter if you use static or dynamic forms.
In the end you will need to heavily customize the more interesting parts of your application with LOTS of code.

By having statically generated forms, you can more easily add logic in the code behind of the form.

Meta Data is very important in EIS

1 think I ran into: I had an employee edit form open and I then clicked at the left on 'banking' and nothing happened (it did show 'processing'), likely because there's no data there.

At Kennissoft we created a complete Enterprise Information System (EIS)
in ASP.NET and LLBL gen.

The system spans everything from sales to accounting.
The plan is to release the system in Q2 of 2009.
